KAPALABHATI
Is a traditional yogic breathing technique (pranayama) known for its cleansing and energising effects. The name comes from Sanskrit: "kapala" means skull, and "bhati" means shining or illuminating, so it’s often called the "Skull Shining Breath."
This practice involves short, forceful exhales and passive inhales, using the abdominal muscles. It helps to detoxify the lungs, stimulate the digestive system, and invigorate the mind and body.
Kapalabhati is a cleansing kriya (purification technique) and a breath-work practice, often used to prepare the body for meditation.
How to Practice Kapalabhati
Sit in a comfortable, upright position.
Inhale deeply through your nose.
Begin a series of quick, powerful exhales, pulling your belly in with each exhale.
Let the inhales happen naturally in between.
Start with 30 breaths or a minute, pause, and repeat for 2–3 rounds.
I hope you feel energised after this practice.
